Over the weekend, the price of gasoline is at least $4 a gallon. In other places, it is close to $4 a gallon. Regardless, the price of gasoline is pretty high. However, get used to the high gas prices. Do not think that the price of gas will not increase. It is the possibility that the price of gas will reach at least $5 a gallon in the near future.
The issue of energy and oil will be a hot one for the 2008 US Presidential Elections.
The price of oil per barrel had continued to climb. Recently, the price of oil per barrel has been at least $135 a barrel. Now, the price of oil per barrel is at about $140. And the price of oil keeps on getting higher. It had taken a toll on businesses and consumers. Airlines have been forced to cut back on flights and staff to combat the price of fuel. Many have protested across the world against the rising prices of fuel and oil.
As a result, the issue of fuel prices has eclipsed climate control as the topic of this year’s G8 Summit taking place in Japan.
In this country, it is business and individuals that have to deal with the costs. The costs of transportation and food have continued to go up. In regards to food, the production and use of ethanol along with high fuel prices have been blamed for the skyrocketing cost of food.
There is one place where gas has gone over $4 a gallon. In California, the price of gas per gallon is about $4.50 at least. Where I live in Florida, the price of gas per gallon is about $3.96. The cheapest gas is at $3.80 a gallon. But, that is in Missouri.
Asides from protesting, there are those that have other means to combat rising prices of fuel. One Connecticut driver would drive out to Massachusetts to fill up his van with $100 worth. Robert Torrey said that he could save at least $10 for every fill up. All he has to do is travel 18 miles north from Connecticut to Massachusetts.
However, not everybody else is as lucky. For those that cannot do what Torrey does, expect to be dishing out more from your pockets due to the rising gas prices. Expect gas to be at least $4 and $6 gallons at least for quite awhile.
For those that live in the big cities, public transportation is a good idea. If there are places you can reach without driving, you can walk. That way you burn off excess weight and calories.
The rising price of gas is good motivation to get creative and to get fit.
