The Israeli have bombed smuggling tunnels near the Gaza Strip’s border with Egypt, the Israeli Government conforms the fighting between Israel and Gaza militants.
They struck the tunnels Wednesday in reply to a militant bomb assault on Tuesday that killed an Israeli soldier near Israel’s border with Gaza. This airstrike caused residents of southern Gaza to escape their homes.
Gaza says Israel also carried out an air strike late Tuesday that wounded a Hamas fighter. Earlier Israeli troops responding to the bomb attack entered Gaza and fired with militants, killing a Palestinian man.
Israel and Egypt shut their crossings with Gaza to regular traffic when Hamas militants took control of the territory in 2007. But, both countries have allowed goods and people to pass through the crossings for humanitarian purposes.
Israel closed their crossings after Tuesday’s bombing.Mr. John Holmes chief of U.N. humanitarian urged Israel Tuesday to re-open its crossings with Gaza to allow relief and reconstruction supplies to enter the territory.
Human Rights commission urged United Nations urged to set up an independent investigation into alleged war crimes by Israel and Hamas during the offensive. It kills 1,300 Palestinians and 13 Israelis.
