The European Commission authorized on Monday EU-level imports of genetically modified soy A2704-12, used for food products and animal food, AFP reports. This authorization is valid only for a 10 year period and all products will need to be strictly labeled.
EU member states did not manage to reach a qualified majority to adopt this decision and thus the file was sent to the Commission and it was approved.
