That one hour session at the gym should not be the only time you have to get healthy.
A healthy life is a lifestyle.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a healthy lifestyle that revolves around your life than the other way around?
Here are four ways to do it:
1) Sit & be Fit
It is reported that sitting for more than 3 hours a day shaves 2 years of your life expectancy.
But either can we stand up and walk around the office 5 hours a day.
To fully utilize the sitting stance, use a yoga ball.
Balancing yourself while sitting works your core while you do your work or watch Netflix at home.
2) Have lunch with a friend
Besides the obvious benefits of having salad for lunch, you can also have a chat with friends that matter to you. It deepens relationships and makes your tummy happy.
3) Get smart on the go
A healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body.
The average person spends nearly 90 minutes a day commuting to work and back.
That is the length of an average feature film.
When we commute, we use our eyes to keep us alert and enjoy the view.
And we use our ears to listen to Spotify.
There is another way however that is easy, simple to implement, makes you more interesting and more valuable to your workplace – listen to audiobooks.
Leaders are readers. A common phrase that isn’t usually utilized.
Books are very comprehensive as they are thoroughly researched and it takes 9 months to publish (including the countless hours of fact checking and proof-reading).
Audiobooks take the strain out of your eyes and puts one of the best narrators to read it to you as you go about your day.
Download them onto your smartphone and take it with you when you work out or jog as well.
Get fit in mind, body and soul all at the same time.
4) Have a gym buddy
We have already discussed the benefit of having a meal with friends.
Working out together also has its perks.
We as humans need the environment as much as we need the equipment. Libraries are built for the same reason.
Having a gym buddy makes the workout a lot more enjoyable, it gives you the feeling that you two are in this together. One can motivate the other and vice versa.
Besides pushing you to your limits, a gym buddy can hold you accountable.
Share progress with each other and set challenges. It can be your own little mini game.
