Results are now being colated in yesterday’s general elections in Ghana.
As expected, the race is fiercely between the incumbent NPP and the main opposition NDC. The NPP is in a narrow lead over the NDC with around a 2 percentage point lead in the presidential election. The NPP candidate Nana Akuffo Ado has close to 50% while the NDC candidate Prof John Atta Mills is following closely with about 48% of the votes, with only 75 constituencies declared out of 230.
The NDC is however in the lead in the parliamentary race. The NDC has 30 seats whiles the NPP has 27.
People predicting a second round between the NPP and the NDC but others are saying it will be a one time victory for one side. Stay tuned for more.
