HRMC Drosh demanded for establishment of girls high school.
CHITRAL: A meeting of Human Rights Monitoring Committee (HRMC) Drosh some 45 KM from here was held at Langa office under the Chair of Niaz Ali Shah Chairman board of Director Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights Chitral. A large number of female human rights activists and members of HRMC attended the meeting. They discussed different issues conflicting to women folk of Drosh area consisting on some 60000 populations but there is only one girls high school in the area. They said that due to non-existing of high and higher secondary school for girls most of the girl’s students are depriving from matriculation examination and further education. They said that women folk can only be promoted and through proper and higher education. They lamented the public representatives who not raised this issue and not fulfillment this long awaited demand of dwellers of the area. They said that the then chief Minister of our Province Aftab Ahmad Khan sherpao had already announced of up-gradation of the girls high school to higher secondary one but he also not vow his promise. Ms Safina Bibi chair person of HRMC Drosh appeal to Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Education Minister Qazi Asad and Sardar Hussain Babak as well as high ups of education department for establishment of an other high school for girls and up gradation of existing high school to higher secondary one. They said that 60% of girls depriving from their basic rights of Education due to no school in the area. They said that there is only one high school for girls for this thick populated area. She said that girls students coming from 10 KM long distance to this school due to no other school in the area.
