Global Temperatures

"Global warming is real; the risks it poses are real; and people have a right to know it and a responsibility to do something about it. The sooner we understand, the sooner we can protect our planet from increased flood, fire, drought, and deadly heat waves."  Let’s hope global warming doesn’t get that bad, but can you imagine what could happen to our planet in the next 100 years? With all these threats from global warming, we should prepare for the worst. Think cold!

Global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing us today. To protect the health and economic well-being of current and future generations, we must reduce our emissions of heat-trapping gases by using the technology, know-how, and practical solutions already at our disposal. The Northern Hemisphere Circulation study found that present climate change models – computer representations of the atmosphere, ocean and land surface – have underestimated the changes in air pressure, leading to an underestimate of the impact of global warming on weather patterns.

Each and every one of us know that Global Warming has already started.Despite knowing this we are instantly cutting down trees without planting any.Others are running large factories and industries creating tonns of Carbon monoxide and Carbon dioxide which are the main greenhouse gases responsible for this phenomenon. Its time to prevent this mass destruction and its your turn to think how you will.Tell all of you to kindly join this community and give your opinion. Two very common ways are(i)Planting more trees and(ii)limited and judicious use of fossil fuels.

An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including a rising sea level and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. These changes may increase the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, heat waves, hurricanes, and tornados. Other consequences include higher or lower agricultural yields, glacier retreat, reduced summer streamflows, species extinctions e.t.c.

Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation. An increase in global temperatures is expected to cause other changes, including sea level rise, increased intensity of extreme weather events, and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation possibly resulting in more frequent floods and drought. Other effects include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future, and how changes will vary from region to region around the globe.
