1888PressRelease – Just In Time For Your Family Trip To France Go Maman Is Helping Children And Adults Alike To Learn French With Catchy Songs And Fun Games.
“Just like in pop music, I wanted to find the chorus or beat that you just can’t shake. I watched my daughter dancing along as my band rehearsed and realised she knew most of the words. A great hook is the key to remembering, and learning, the lyrics and the melody of the song and of the language,” said Antoine Gilleron, co-founder of Go Maman and front man of Hackney band Folie Ordinaire.
The French greetings song used this formula. And it works!
Launched by French Hackney-based husband and wife team Annette and Antoine Gilleron, Go Maman is a 3-steps system for helping parents get their children speaking French through games and songs. Parents don’t need to speak French themselves to teach their children; they will learn along too.
“The aim of this system is not to train parents how to teach French, but to help them and their children enjoy playing and singing French together, and through that learning French together,” said Annette Gilleron, co-founder of Go Maman and an experienced French teacher.
Research shows that children learn foreign languages with greater ease by playing simple games and that music is the most powerful mnemonic device. This creative French couple writes lyrics according to educational targets and with catchy modern melodies that adults and children will both love. The French greetings song is the first song of a series to come out soon.
From September 2014, it will be compulsory for primary school children above the age of seven to learn another language in the UK. However, nearly a quarter of primary schools do not have a teacher with more than a GCSE modern language qualification. Schools are ill-prepared and their lack of resources is exacerbated by funding cuts. Helping children to get the most of their classroom language learning is vital.
Each Go Maman song is supported by games which foster French language learning, sentence structure, grammar & vocabulary effortlessly. For subscribers, monthly video tutorials will be available to support them during their French journey, as well as flash cards’ games, bingo templates, dominoes, a set of matching game, worksheets and stories
