Godse, the man who killed Mahatma Gandhi was brought up as a girl in his child hood wore a nose ring and was believed to have a oracular powers, says a new book.
In the book "The men who killed Mahatma Gandhi" written by Manohar Malgoankar said about Godse that his parents and brothers use to believe that he possessed oracular powers. He would sit before the family goddess, staring fixedly at a spot of smoot smeared in the exact centre of copper tray, soon fall into a trance.
In the trance, he would see some figures or wriring in the black spot before him, much as a crystal-gazer is suppossed in his glass ball. Then one ar other member of the family would ask him questions. His answers were believed to be those of goddess, who spoke through his mouth.
The author says that psychologistis may find some explanation for Godse’s warped mental processes in the fact he was brought up as a girl. His left nostril was pierced to take a nath or nose ring, Malgaonkar writes.
