Golain Water supply scheme inaugurated.

CHITRAL: Golain Water Supply scheme inaugurated at Danin. Member Provincial assembly Saleem Khan was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was also attended by Executive Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE), Deputy commissioner Ameenul Haq, AC Minhasuddin and other civil officers and workers of Pakistan Peoples Party.
The project was completed with a cost of 324.60 million rupees which were granted by the previous government. Some 29000 beneficiaries will get this water. The pipeline of 10 inches diameter carried from Golain some 26.5 kilometers.
Zahir Shah spokesman of PHE said that some 9 water tanks were constructed having the capacity of 5000 to 30000 gallons. 1000000 gallons water will carry through this pipeline per day. Addressing on the occasion the speakers hailed efforts of Saleem Khan who motivated previous government who allocate some 32 crore 46 lacs rupees for this purpose.
Some local people also raised the issue that at present 65 households are totally deprived from water connection as well as some pipe lying openly on the ground. They also raised the issue that this pipeline will be run on test basis for 3 months. During this 3 months contractor will be responsible for any damages but after expiring of test period this will be handed over to Water and sanitation unit through PHE department and there would be no responsibility of contractor for any damages or loss.
Addressing on the occasion former AC Sardar Muhammad said that Singor, Shahmirandeh, Seenlasht and Balsch are deprived from drinking water for the last 1 month while people facing water shortage since 1995. He stressed upon the PHE and WSU for immediate supplying of drinking water to these areas.
XEN Public Health said that water of Golain scheme will be given to eastern part of Chitral while Angarghon water will be given to Singor areas. He said that the project have ben designed for 20 years to supply drinking water to Town area.
Deputy Commissioner and MPA Saleem Khan emphasized on concern department to work hard and to success this mega project with great dedication and honest working. They said that no one should to be deprived from water in town area. At last chief guest inaugurated water supply scheme by unveiling plaque of the scheme. A large number of people attended the function.
