Google and Yahoo have signed a new deal where Google makes available its technology for displaying ads for search or content(Adsense for search, and Adsense for content) to use by Yahoo. Yahoo has struck the deal to give a fillip to its dwindling online advertising market and also to avert a possible take-over by Microsoft.
The deal has been signed for 10 years, an initial 4-year period and then two extensions of 3 yrs on Yahoo’s dicretion. Google has left to Yahoo deciding for itself how much of Google’s technology should be used. All this means Google has hit Microsoft hard apart from walking away with some good money in its deal with Yahoo.
But then experts say this does not rule out the possiblity of a Microsoft-Yahoo deal. However it does seem Google has won a little war with Microsoft.
