Democratic Governor of Ohio Ted Strickland, a supporter of Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, was listed as one of the top names picked for VP running mate for presumed Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. However, Strickland removed himself as a possible choice of VP running mate.
Recently, Strickland was asked if he be Obama’s VP. He said it was not going to happen.
“Absolutely not. If drafted I will not serve,” Strickland said. However, Strickland said that he remained committed to helping out Obama in the US Presidential Election against presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona.
Strickland has made it clear. He will continue to support and campaign for Obama. But, he is not interested in being Obama’s VP. This Friday, Strickland will be joining Obama on the campaign trail.
Obama has launched a two-week tour to highlight the differences between himself and McCain on the economy.
