Government Doctors to Start Indefinite Strike from Tomorrow in Kerala

The government doctors have decided to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow as the talks with the government failed.

The talks held between the leaders of the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) and the health secretary were not able to take a decision as the former stood firm on their stand.

The government had conceded that some crucial anomalies in the pay scales should indeed be rectified. Earlier, the government had offered assistant surgeons just two increments on their pay scale of Rs 11,910.

The compromise formula that has been evolved is that the scale be raised to Rs12,280 along with the two increments.

As for those in the rank of civil surgeons and upwards, the government has now offered to give one increment as special pay and the rest as allowance.
