Government of Maharashtra employees to donate funds for Bihar flood victims

In the midst of the entire controversy going on between MNS leader Raj Thackeray and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan over the language issue.

Here is different tale of the friendship between Maharashtra and Bihar. Maharashtra government employees have decided to sacrifice their one day salary to raise funds for the victims of Bihar floods.

These state government employees include district council officials, primary and secondary school teachers, junior college as well as other government college professors.

Teachers and clerks of agricultural schools run by the state government of Maharashtra will also be donating their one day wage for the Bihar flood victims. Even the retired Maharashtra government employees are participating in this program.

The total number of the employees is 19 million and the estimated amount that will be gathered due to this program is said to be 30 billion rupees.

This step indicates that the state government is seriously working on reassuring the residents of Bihar that they are still welcome in Maharashtra.

It can also be called a concrete step to cement the cracked relationship between the inhabitants of Maharashtra and Bihar.
