Government Taking Steps To Promote ‘Make in India’: Hansraj Gangaram Ahir

Government Is Aware About Issues Of Sector

New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir released a document on enhancing competitiveness of Indian PVC and Caustic Soda Industries on December 22. The document prepared by Industry body FICCI aims to bring out the challenges and issues of this sector and suggests the way forward.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ahir said that the Government is taking several steps to promote ‘Make in India’ in various sectors. He said the Government is aware about the issues of the sector regarding duty rationalization and single window clearances. The Minister said that India imports a large amount of plastics and petrochemicals which have security as well as other implications. He said the Government wants to usher in self-dependency in the sector and for this end, it has taken policy initiatives.
