Jammu, March 30 (Scoop News)-Governor, N.N. Vohra arrived in Srinagar this morning.
Immediately after his arrival, the Governor spoke with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister, who briefed the Governor about the steps underway to timely deal with the situation arising from the incessant rains in the past days and the present level of Jhelum River.
During his three day stay in the Valley, the Governor shall visit Gulmarg to address the Young Investigators Meeting (YIM) 2015 which is being attended by 120 Scientists, including Sir Tim Hunt, Nobel Laureate, and a large number of leading scientists from USA, UK, Germany, South Africa, Sweden, Finland and Australia. Besides, 41 eminent scientists from the leading national institutions of science, technology, engineering, biological sciences, agricultural sciences, medical sciences, immunology, fundamental research and integrative medicine are participating in the YIM.
The Governor shall also preside over a Special Convocation of the University of Kashmir on 1st April, at which Dr C.N.R. Rao, eminent Scientist and Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, shall be honoured by vesting on him an Hony Doctorate.(Scoop News)
