Govt committed for responsive governance, better civic facilities: Sakina

 

 

 

 

          Srinagar, August 22 (Vijay Kumar) – The lone woman Minister in J&K for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo has said that J&K Government has placed comprehensive development programme for remote and backward areas of the state.

           Sakina Itoo was addressing a public gathering in Kanchloo Kund, Qazigund in South Kashmir on Sayurday.

           She said that government is committed to provide responsive governance and better facilities to the people. She said people of the state have faced several hardships during the past two decades and we are committed to end their sufferings. She made it clear that the people wish to live with peace and prosperity and the government should take reciprocal measures to come up to the expectations of the people.

            The Minister said that peace is imperative for the development and progress of the Jammu and Kashmir State. She described those asking for frequent bands and hartals as enemies of people and said that development process gets detracted and economy is adversely affected by these hartals.

            She said that programme and policies of the government as people friendly, Ms. Sakina said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, the state would prosper and lead toward new heights.

            Ms. Sakina said that people must understand the nefarious designs behind the frequent hartals in the Valley which are responsible for bringing miseries to the common man.

            The Minister urged the administration to work for the betterment of the people and ensure that policy decisions are extended on the ground level. She asked the officers to work with dedication so that the targets fixed could be achieved within the stipulated time frame. She said government wants result oriented work so that direct benefit goes to the public.

            Ex-forest Minister, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah and senior National Conference leader, Mr. Rafiq Ahmad and other leaders of NC also spoke on the occasion.
