Jammu & Kashmir: Jammu and Kashmir Government by issuing order No 190-Est dated 20-11-2011 not only has sent alarm bells to those who have occupied quarters of Estates Department unauthorizedly but also has served as siren to all political parties because of full chances for creating ripples among them. Maximum number of quarters has been occupied by influential and blue eyed having affiliation with national as well as regional political parties.
As per the government order a Special Eviction Team (SET) headed by deputy director Estates would be deployed to process of eviction of unauthorized occupants from the government accommodation from November 30. The orders have been circulated to almost all the residents for information, said concerned officials adding that process of eviction will take place at any cost and no concession on grounds of political affiliation would be given to anyone.
Illegal occupants not only have utilized the accommodation for free but have also enjoyed renovation and new furniture every year due to influence of political leaders of various political parties, Kalhan Kaul, General Secretary Non Gazetted Employees Union Civil Secretariat said. He said that out of 60 percent share employees are provided only 32 percent. Out of total 461 quarters 130 quarters have been sub let by unauthorized occupants and about 38 are occupied un authorizedly in Company Bagh alone. Karam Singh 8B, 10A, 5D, Sheela Matto 35G, Subash Singh 36G, Rehmatullah 1H, Madhu Koul 13H, Sarla Thaploo 4k, Sushma Saproo 10K are some of unauthorized occupants.
Some big names include Smt Aisia Begum w/o late Sheikh Jabbar former minister having allotment in three places in Jammu one among those falls under no 19F in Company Bagh, Tahir Mirza Journalist in 5Thas also been list in unauthorized occupants. Mufti Azam Mufti Bashir Din in 11J without paying rent is also in the list, Showket Mugal 8J another big name besides Imam Sahib in 14 B neither happens to be an employee nor a political activist, the copy of list is in possession of Kashmir Images.
Responding to move of eviction by government, All J&K Civil Secretariat Retired (Migrant) Employees Association, Chairman B. L Raina has welcome move but has urged the SET to keep the direction of Supreme Court dated 27-10-2009, and assurances given by government in legislature time to time in view.
It is purely inhuman attitude of government towards migrants in particular, senior PDP leaders and habitant of government quarter Rakesh Pardesi said adding that Jagti is not an alternate as reportedly cracks have occurred on the walls of buildings besides being unsafe place is situated far flung. He said in any case if government uses its brutal force people will march to parliament to protest anarchy by present dispensation. He said that government has taken migrants for granted which cannot be tolerated anymore.
