Minister determined for increasing literacy ratio.
CHITRAL: Provincial Minister for Population welfare Saleem Khan Chitrali said that provincial government would left no stone unturned for increasing literacy ratio in the province. He was addressing to the staff and elites of the area during introductory meeting with staff of Human Development Support Unit of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD). He said that NCHD had winded up due to lack of fund and some 30000 staff suffered at Chitral. But we re-opened it when it was restored in the country as the issued was raised on provincial and national assembly level. NCHD is a semi government organization which was funding by Pakistan Development Forum (PDF) and 50% of its budget was bearing by government of Pakistan. He said that NCHD working in two sectors at Chitral for betterment of education and to increase literacy ratio in the district. Although Chitral is on fourth No is education ratio of the province but still it need more improvement. He said that some 250 students including female are reading at Peshawar university and it was not possible in past. Hence poor students abandoned their further education and we are thinking on this issue to compensate family of those families who engage their children in child labor. I invited Governor Awais Ahmad Khan Ghani to Chitral and requested him for establishment of sub campus of Benazir Bhutoo Shaheed University at Chitral and he approved it. As well as some 410 million fund have been approved for PC-1.for this purposes he added. Unattractive Areas Allowance was increased for government officials in the district. Besides it Adult education system is also improving for basic education to illiterate people to enable them at least to know basic things. Earlier that Muhammad Afzal General Manager briefed provincial minister about staff position and their progress. He thanked to all participants especially Maulana Khaleequz Zaman khateeb Shahi Masjid Chitral who also participated the session.
Provincial Minister also planted a sapling of Deodar at NCHD office as a part of plantation drive in the district.
