WASHINGTON—The U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) Public Documents Distribution Center in Pueblo, Colorado celebrates its 40th anniversary of service to the Nation. In an effort led by Congressman Frank Evans, the GPO distribution facility opened on October 11, 1971. GPO employees in Pueblo work with the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Citizen Information Center to process customer orders. The center is responsible for processing and distributing orders for consumer publications. In the last 40 years, nearly 950 million publications have been distributed worldwide.
The distribution center consistently scores high on customer satisfaction surveys compared to other companies and Government agencies. The distribution center was renamed the “Congressman Frank Evans Government Printing Office Distribution Center” earlier this year in honor of Congressman Frank Evans, who passed away in June 2010. Last year, President Barack Obama signed an act of the
111th Congress to rename the center after the former Congressman. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Evans led the effort to establish the distribution center in Pueblo, Colorado.
“For 40 years, the Pueblo distribution center has provided a great service to the American people by connecting the public with published Government information,” said Public Printer Bill Boarman. “I congratulate the center’s employees for achieving this milestone and establishing the reputation of impeccable customer service.”
