“Artists are like silkworms. In the beginning they eat and eat, study, practice, learn,t hen they stop at one point . They bring fibres out of themselves and warp themselves round with these. Like the silk is to the silkworm, personal style is to the artists, he is its prisoner. But he has t o cut out of it at one time. Then he is a butterfly; flapping his two wings he flits from flower to flower. It is then that he is a mat ure artist, savouring honey the myriad forms of the world. That changes his way of work and gives him a new vision.”
Abanindranath Tagore
