A patient who was treated for abdominal pain at Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach, Oregon was given some surprising news in the hospital’s paperwork: It said, ”Based on your visit today, we know you are pregnant,” The Associated Press reported.
The patient, 71-year-old John Grady Pippen, was indeed surprised.
According to AP, the staff at Curry General Hospital gave the retired mechanic and logger the happy news and some pain pills for his condition.
Hospital administrator William McMillan said an errant keystroke was responsible for the ridiculous error in the hospital’s computer-generated discharge instructions.
