Great Game and Strategic Blunders, Story of Afghanistan

Instead of any betterment, Afghanistan is getting from bad to worst. After the invasion of Afghanistan by US and its Allies today history is repeating it self. Afghanistan is fastly moving towards a civil war. Pashtun are getting bitter day by day due to their genocide by US and its local and foreign allies. Taliban who went under ground are coming back strong.

The whole region is moving towards a wider conflict. Indian Presence in post Taliban Afghanistan is at one side abetting and financing rebellion in Pakistani Balochistan and on other in Chinese province of Xingjian.  Resulting in Surge of tensions on Indo-China border and exchange of hostilities and firing on Skim China Border.

After the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001-02, US allied with Northern Alliance, the Alliance of Anti Taliban groups dominated by Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazara’s.   Interestingly if we look in history we observe that Taliban movement came as a reaction to lawlessness and increase in crime in Afghanistan, resulting from the activates of commanders and forces that   are now Northern Alliance. Tajik leader of Northern alliance Barhanuddin Rabbani, who was ex president of Afghanistan, was the one who invited Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to Afghanistan. Same OSAMA bin Laden who attacked US and killed thousands of People. Same OSAMA, whose influence changed Taliban movement into Religious extremist movement,.

Criminals and Thugs constituted Northern Alliance, Uzbek Butcher of humans and Criminal General Abdul Rasheed Dostam, Drug lords like General Fahim; Gul Agha etc were main Muscles of Northern Alliance.  People like Abdullah Abdullah, Younous Qanooni , Ahmed Shah Mahsud with history of brute and plunder  and ethnic hate for Pashtuns were the minds behind the alliance and its policies ,   Fanatic extremists like Barhanuddin Rabbani who dragged Afghanistan in to Hands of AL Qaeda and OBL were important officials.

911 incidents were no doubt crime against whole humanity. It was duty of International community to avenge the innocents and bring culprits to justice. Unfortunately US administration under “Born Again Christian” Gorge Bush and his Neo-conservative friends, all the rules of Morality and international law were broken.

A blank check was given to Northern Alliance to kill and Torture Pashtuns in the name of Fighting Taliban. Thanks to Independent media we can easily guess what happened to Pashtuns by watching visuals of Killa Jangi incident and by watching Convoy of Death (earlier title: Massacre at Mazar) ,a documentary by Irish filmmaker Jamie Doran and Afghan journalist which by the way were small promos compared to actual atrocities committed by Northern Alliance with support of International Forces.

Much of Afghanistan’s calamity and daily carnage in the past three decade have been the result of foreign air onslaughts. Thus, it will not be exaggerated if we say that Russians and the Americans have dropped all kinds of bombs including 1000 kg bombs, weighing more than the bombs dropped during the First and Second World Wars combined.

After the invasion of Afghanistan people in the region were positive that now new era for poor afghans will bring them prosperity, health and education. But unfortunately every thing went opposite. US and ISAF failed and Northern Alliance Thugs prevailed. Billions of Dollars contributed by US and other countries went to drain i.e, the funds were stolen by corruption of Afghanistan government officials. or were wasted in salaries of foreign officials

"Vast sums  of money are being lavished by Western aid agencies on their own officials in Afghanistan at a time when extreme poverty is driving young Afghans to fight for the Taliban. The going rate paid by the Taliban for an attack on a police checkpoint in the west of the country is $4, but foreign consultants in Kabul, who are paid out of overseas aids budgets, can command salaries of $250,000 to $500,000 a year…”

Interestingly International community claims that it’s Taliban who are not allowing reconstruction in Afghanistan and are bringing hurdles but this statement proves to be wrong because the areas where there is no Taliban presence and which are traditional strong holds of Northern Alliance also don’t have any signs of developments.

US and ISAF help to Northern alliance against Pashtuns is the biggest reason behind re emerging of Taliban as a stronger force. The killing and genocide of Pashtuns has forced Pashtuns to choose between two evils and most of them are joining Taliban which are Pashtuns and are seen by them as lesser evil.

According map made by Afghan Interior ministry with help of ANA and UN ….

Almost half of Afghanistan is at a high risk of attack by the Taliban and other insurgents or is under "enemy control," a secret Afghan government map shows, painting a dire security picture before presidential elections…

The threat assessment map, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters, shows 133 of Afghanistan’s 356 districts are regarded as high-risk areas with at least 13 under "enemy control."

Lack of Balance and Justice between ethnic groups is forcing Afghanistan towards civil war.  After the Afghan presidential election of 20th August 2009, Hamid Karzai, the Pashtun  leader from Abdali tribe is expected to win. Although there are many proofs of vote rigging from both Tajik Abdullah Abdullah side and Karzai side , Hamid Karzai is still seen as a winner because he has support of Pashtuns in  who makes 45 % of afghan population and from North because Both Dostam and Fahim are his allies . Tajik vote bank has also voted in favor of  Karzai because Hamid Karzai has Nominated Tajik General Fahim as his vice president…

 According to “Daily Independent”

The price of Kalashnikovs has doubled in Afghanistan. For a country awash with arms, the fact that the weapons are now fetching $600 apiece is a cause of some surprise, but a surge of demand is to blame for the increase, with a steady stream of weapons said to be heading for the north.

This is the Tajik constituency of Abdullah Abdullah, the presidential candidate who claims the election is being stolen by the incumbent Western-backed President, Hamid Karzai.

The arms shipments are a source of alarm in a country where political stand-offs have often been settled at the point of a gun. Few Western diplomats claim there is an immediate danger of civil war but tensions are mounting after polls which have been mired in bitterness and recrimination……

……In the Panjshir Valley, the heartland of the Northern Alliance where Dr Abdullah fought beside Ahmed Shah Masoud, the legendary commander murdered by al-Qa’ida at the behest of the Taliban, a former Mujaheddin fighter said the Tajiks would not tolerate being deprived by a fraudulent poll.

At his home, as he unwrapped an oiled cloth to show off a Kalashnikov and a Glock pistol, the former Mujahedeen commander Gul Shah Mohammed declared: "We know how to use these weapons, we haven’t forgotten how to fight."

On other hand US

…The Obama administration, which has taken a noticeably harder stance against Mr Karzai than the Bush White House, is said to prefer a second-round run-off between Mr Karzai and Dr Abdullah to at least maintain the appearance of probity. During Mr Karzai’s tempestuous 19-minute meeting last week with Richard Holbrooke, the US envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, the American diplomat is said to have stated: "Too many votes have been stolen by your side, there has to be a second round" prompting Mr Karzai to storm out. Mr Holbrooke’s officials maintain that the talks were amicable.

Yet, according to some analysts, a second round would be seen as having been engineered by the Americans and would lead to deep Pashtun resentment. "The Americans are fighting in the south, killing Pashtuns, they are pressing for a second round to prevent a Pashtun, Hamid Karzai, from being President as long as possible. This may be simplistic but it is how a lot of Pashtuns will look at this," said one analyst, Waheed Mujhda.

"It will look like interference by the West, especially by the Americans. It will not be good for the country……"

On other hand ISAF Chief General Mac Crystal has recently given his review on Afghan Situation in which he has repeated the history of Gen. Westmoreland, who gave similar type of review some decades back to President of USA on Vietnam situation….. But US lost after sacrificing 55000 soldiers and killing hundred thousands of poor innocent civilians.

US and Nato generals are admitting that Taliban are getting stronger and we have seen the troop surge is proving to be counter productive. Some analysts and observers are predicting that US, and NATO will leave Afghanistan by mid of Next year. They also say if it happens it will bring back Afghanistan of 1990’s with bloody civil war and Power vacuum which by courtesy of surrounding powers may change into wider conflict.

Interestingly the reason for US failure is US it self. At one side it allowed Pashtun genocide and Participated in it and criminals, drug lord and Terrorists like Fahim, Dostam, Abdullah Abdullah to rule Afghanistan and allowed them to do what ever they desired. On other it allowed India to operate from Afghanistan.

Indian so called reconstruction activates are actually Intel operations against China and Pakistan.

In swat Pakistani Forces have recovered large caches of Weapons which bears the mark “Made in India” similarly now
