Flood affected of Greenlasht sought government help.

CHITRAL: Flood affected people of Green Lasht village near Booni sought government help for rehabilitation and protection of their houses and land. Green Lasht village situated on the bank of Chitral river which was badly hit by flood last year as a result some 6 houses were ruined and 10 house were damaged partially.
Hundred of Acres cultivable land also included in river due to soil erosion by flood water. Due to raising of water surface in Chitral river residents of the area migrating to some safe place to save their lives and belongings.
A woman carrying her baby in her lap told this scribe that she is worry for her newly born baby and could not sleep at night time due to flood thread. Some affected people living in a temporary tent provided by a non governmental organization but the affected people complained that they were never supported by provincial or federal government.
Syed Sardar Hussain newly elected MPA from PK-90 visited the affected area and meet flood victims. He assured them for raising voice on the floor of provincial assembly to attract government attention toward their support.
Residents of the area have appeal federal and provincial government for construction of protection bund and safety wall on the bank of River to save their houses and cultivable land. It is worth to mention here that combined grave yard of the village also was badly hit by flood. Local people has been dig out dead bodies of their relatives and burying them in some other safe place.
