I have been briskly covering the ‘Gorkhaland’ movement in the past giving my opinion side by side. To me this was a highly ill conceived movement which if succeeds would have the beginning of the end of a nation called India. This was my personal opinion and was accepted by large masses in India.
However, as expected, this enraged the followers of Gurung & Co and they threatened me in a language just short of life threat. It seems that to these cadres of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha, no one has the right to oppose their ‘Gorkhaland’ movement even in a democratic set up like India. In fact an e-mail send to me by one Bimal Tamang through [Thaindian News] clearly says that British used to call Black people (Indians) ‘Dogs.’ I am reproducing the copy of the e-mail, which is self explanatory. All along poorly written and out of context at most places, the e-mail also exposes the mindset of a follower of the ‘Movement.’

Mr Indian or Mr. invisible,your comments on the great Gorkhas prove your uppermost organ is not working or your nutshell is empty. Do you know why India still a underdeveloped country.why still in 21st century the baby girls are killed before they born.Do you know why women are burntto death after getting marriage.Why about 60% of the people still living below poverty line.Above all, do you know why the real indian as we used to call to the armymen have to sacrifice their lives in the war against different terrorist outfits over different part of the country. Because, you like people,unfortunately, born in this country.You like people are real terrorist who want communal war and destablish abnormalsy in the country.But Mr nonINDIAN,this is 2009.We fight for our cause in democratic manner,as our leader advised us. But that doesn’t mean we offer our another cheek if someone hit us in one, as Mahatma Gandhi said.The world knows very well what Gorkha does to their enemy. Each Gorkha can handle 4 people like you.So i suggest you dont try to awake sleeping tiger.Oh… yes,one more thing, we are desperately awaiting the time when your leg standsup to kick us. Lastly, as you talked about the history, BRITISH USE TO CALLED BLACK PEOPLE "DOG".
The inference is yours to draw. I can only say I am a committed ground reporter and such threat tactics would not budge me from expressing my opinion and reporting the movement from time to time. It is ultimately the people who win and not the vandals.
