Gujjars asks community youth to struggle hard

 

Jammu, December 19 (Scoop News)   –  Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation, a frontal organization of Gujjars today asked community youth to struggle hard and  achieve the highest level of success by using Schedule Tribe status as an effective tool for their educational upliftment and Scio-cultural Development.

While Launching state-wide “Tribal Youth Movement” in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary, Tribal Foundation told reporters that the main objective of launching this unprecedented movement is to channelize the energies of Gujjar Bakerwal youth of the state though proper guidance   enabling them to compete in different  competitive exams by making  a mark of positive contribution to the sate in particular and to the country in general.

Dr. Javaid Rahi  was addressing a press conference in Jammu. He said in initial phase of the movement we have to reach out to  at least 20 to 30 thousand youths of the community  who are presently  pursuing various academic and professional degree courses in various colleges and university of the state to harness their skills , develop their personality and improve their communication skills and to prepare and to equip them well for the challenges facing them ahead.

Dr Rahi said that the movement is an attempt to reach out to the marginalized, neglected  and educationally suppressed youth of the society mainly Gujjar–Bakerwal to equip themselves well with educational capabilities ,cultural sensitization and social awareness.

He said that those of the community who have already created a niche in their lives including Dr. Shahid Iqbal IAS, Suleman Chowdhary IPS Ch. Ayaz Kohli IAS and other KAS Officers will share their experiences with tribal youth and streamline the capabilities of the younger generation of community during interaction programmes under the movements. There are various agencies who are cooperating with the Foundation for the smooth and successful conduction of the movement, including Centre for Life Long Learning, University of Jammu , J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Students Federation, SC / ST student Federation and other local organizations.

The Tribal Foundation during interactions will provide basic  knowledge about different schemes run by different Govt/semi Government  departments for STs youth, and provide co-ordination to Gujjar NGOs’ /Bhawans across the country including those who are working for Gujjars in Punjab, H.P, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi , Gujrat, UP, Utranchal willing to   provide financial assistance  to  poor students belonging to Gujjar Bakerwal of the state for all type studies up-to PhD level.

Dr. Rahi said that we have already requested the State Governor Sh N N Vohara, Chief Minister Sh Omar Abdullah and Gujjar Ministers for help and also wrote to different colleges, universities of the state for their coordination and guidance to make the movement a success.
