Veteran politician PPP founder leader, poet, journalist and wrier Gul Nawaz Khan Khaki passes away

CHITRAL: Veteran politician, founder member of Pakistan People’s Party, poet, journalist and writer Gul Nawaz Khan Khaki son of Sher Nawaz Khan Khaki of Shahmirandeh Singor passes away in the age of 77 years. He fell ill a few days back and died within 20 days. Gul Nawaz Khaki was brother of Nawab Khan, Shamsuddin, Sabihuddin and father of Faheemuddin, Safiuddin and Zakauddin. He was chief patron and president of Unjumani Taraqi Khowar and worked as sub editor for Jamhori Islam Peshawar. He was also a writer, poet who written so many books in Khowar (Chitrali language) like Meeri Karwan (on the life of Qauide Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah), Thoron collection of poetry of local poets, Khush Watan, Taraqi w no shehir, Seeratun Nabi, Soornaik, Khowar dictionary, Beeraish, Laal Jafar Yaad, and collecting of 1600 Ahadies. He joined PPP in 1967 and remained loyal to the party without getting any personal benefit because of all of his sons are jobless. He wrote famous poem for conservation of wild life which was popular among the local people. His funeral prayer was attended by former provincial minister Saleem Khan, District Nazim Maghfirat Shah, civil officers, politicians and hundred of people belonging to all walk of life. He was laid to rest at his ancestral grave yard of Singor in presence of thousands of tearing eyes.
