Hammerax Is A Hit With Diverse New Endorsers Marco Giovino, Terry Bozzio and Omar Hakim

Clearwater, Florida, — Hammerax, famed for making out-of-the-ordinary bronze instruments with sustain and musical effects that go well beyond the sonic possibilities of traditional cymbals, has launched an innovative, diverse endorsement program. New artists who have joined the Hammerax family include drumming legends Terry Bozzio and Omar Hakim, and current Robert Plant skinsman Marco Giovino.

Hakim Sticks To Hybrid Hammerax

Drummer Omar Hakim is among the world’s most elite drummers, a top call recording and touring star who has played with everyone from Madonna to Weather Report. Under his agreement with Hammerax, Hakim will play the company’s Hybrid Bronze hanging percussion instruments. As a result, Hakim has already integrated Hammerax Hybrids, such as Boomywang, Culebra, Glass, Meanie and others into his drum set up.

Bozzio Brings A New Beat With Hammerax

Terry Bozzio is a drummer’s drummer, a legendary player from his early days with Frank Zappa to stints with his own band ‘80s hitmakers Missing Persons, and a career supporting high-profile stars like guitarist Jeff Beck. He’s currently playing the company’s Hybrid bronze hanging sculptural percussion instruments. Because he is well known for artistic innovations, and his ability to make full use of one of the world’s largest drum sets, Bozzio’s endorsement adds special artistic credibility for Hammerax. “This is an important step to be working with Terry with our Hybrid offerings,” says Hammerax President John Stannard. “We know he will be instrumental to Hammerax.”

Giovino Jams With Hammerax – Robert Plant

Marco Giovino is currently touring with Robert Plant, and receiving rave reviews for his performances. He has an exclusive arrangement with Hammerax to endorse its entire product line.

“We were blown away by how Giovino has used our products on the current Plant tour,” noted John Stannard. “We were particularly surprised about how great our Liquicy products sounded with Plant.  “We believe that all of our new endorsers will really help build our brand based on their success in the industry.”

Hammerax’s announcements are made just in time for International Drum Month. November and December are traditionally the most important months of the year for musical instrument sales.

“Hammerax’s products have made a big impact in terms of expanding the idea of what cymbals can be,” says Phil Hood, publisher of DRUM! Magazine. “With these endorsers the company is moving its innovations deeper into the mainstream of modern music.”

About Hammerax
Hammerax has an interesting history based on the life of founder John Stannard. Stannard grew up building instruments, constructing a banjo at age six and then building guitars with his father, a piano rebuilder and tuner by trade. In 1979 Stannard formed Om percussion, the company that would go on to invent the energy chime, the double row chime tree and the laminated temple block. In 1985 J W Stannard company was formed to make wind chimes tuned to ancient scales. In 1993 Stannard began hammering bronze, later studying traditional techniques on the island of Bali. In 2006, a lifetime of listening followed by a long and focused research period paid off. The small studio of metal smiths headed by Stannard unveiled a new line of hand hammered stick-playable hybrid instruments These hybrids combine instrument classes to form surprising results.
