Did Dennis Rodman Violate U.S. Sanctions Against North Korea?

I read on AOL.Com today that Dennis Rodman might be in some legal trouble after taking his recent trip to North Korea.

Rodman may have violated U.S. sanctions against North Korea during this trip; thus, causing the U.S. Treasury to conduct an investigation into the matter. He reportedly may have spent more than $10,000 for gifts for Kim Jong UN’s birthday.

The Daily Beast first reported the list of gifts which included: “Hundreds of dollars’ worth of Irish Jameson whiskey, European crystal, an Italian suit, a fur coat, and an English Mulberry handbag for Kim’s wife.”

These items may have affected the current U.S. sanctions banning imports of luxury goods to the North Korea Country, and these pricey gifts could have caused a violation of such sanctions.

There’s been a string of negative reports from news follows about “The Worm” since Rodman took his lastest trip to visit North Korea and taking along several other former NBA players too.

The Daily Beast reported if Rodman got the harshest punishment he possibly could get, it might land him up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
