Hayden’s hard hitting helps CSK win 2nd encounter

After a disappointing performance day before yesterday, Chennai Super Kings rocked the Royal Challengers in their 2nd match at Port Elizabeth yesterday.

The Chennai Super Kings were greatly helped by big Hayden’s hard hitting in the beginning, as he along with Parthiv Patel posted the biggest opening partnership of IPL Season 2 scoring 110 runs in the first 10 overs.

Matt Hayden was at his belligerent best hitting 65 runs in just 35 bowls, as Chennai Super Kings cruised to a total of 180 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

The Royal Challengers in reply had a disastrous start, losing opener Praveen Kumar and later Captain Kevin Peterson on naught, who got out to a perfect Muralidharan googly.

Dravid who was the sole fighter in the end also succumbed to the pressure as Royal Challengers folded at a paltry score of just 88, losing the match by 92 runs in the end.
