Heathrow, worst performing airport in Europe

According to the latest report from the Association of European Airlines,Heathrow is worst performing airport out of 27 surveyed.

Almost half of the flights are plying through the airport delayed, making it most worst performing airport.

The report suggests that half of the outbound flights are atleast 15 minutes late.

Average delay for departures has now increased from 35 minutes from end of last year to 39.5 minutes for the first quarter of 2008. Source Mail online.

Flights from Munich airport, in contrast have least delay with only 17.6% departures held up.

British Airway’s boss admitted the airport had been a national embarrassment for years.

The report came just months after chaotic opening of the much-heralded 4.3 billion pound terminal 5.
