Tremendous flood havoc Kalash valley.
CHITRAL: tremendous flood ruined Kalash valley and its adjacent area of Shekhanandeh of Muslim community) situated on Pak Afghan border area. According to SHO police station Ayun heavy flood hit Bumborat and its surrounding area as a result head of Krakal micro hydro power house, Gambak irrigation channel, micro hydro and irrigation channel of Brone, as well as protection wall at Brone also damaged but due to this protection Bund the whole village was saved from flood including high school. Besides it 19 houses were partially damaged more than 50% faced them million of rupees it is worth to mention here that houses of these people also had damaged last year these people having no alternate land for residential purpose and they reconstructed their house on the same spot but no organization construct any protection Bund to save their houses from flood. As a result their houses once again hit by flash water of flood. A jeep able bridge at Wadus
1 Jeep able bridge was totally damaged while the other one was partially harmed and so many irrigation channels, Orchards, standing crops of maize, cultivation land etc also badly damaged by flood. Cultivable land of two persons also erosion by flood water at Aneesh
people of Shekhanandeh and other villages including women folk are busy to restore their roads, pipeline of drinking water, pedestal bridges as well as construction of protection bund on river side on self help basis to save the remaining valley from flood next time. A number of people hailed efforts of Ayun and Valleys Development Program (AVDP) a local support Organization for construction of Protection bund on the bank of Bumborat river towards population and caused for its protection. They demanded that donor agencies should to provide fund to such LSOs for long term development.
