Jammu/Bhaderwah, June 17 (Scoop News) – Bhaderwah cultural-cum-tourism festival witnessed a huge enthusiastic participation of the general public on second day. Jhankies were taken out on the themes depicting the customs and rituals of traditional Hindu and Muslim marriages besides propagating the message of peace, harmony and brotherhood among the different sections of the society. People joined these processions enthralled by the music of the drums and folk songs.
The main attraction of the day was a grand cultural programme at Khellani Bhalla which witnessed a huge participation of the public and tourists. Dhiku Dance, Folk songs, Kashmiri songs, Dogri songs and Drama were the main attractions of the programme. The artists of Bhaderwah and different parts of the state were well appreciated by the audience on the occasion. The cultural bonanza kept the audience spell bound. Another cultural programme was organized at Seri Bazar, Bhaderwah.
MLA Bhaderwah Mohd. Sharief Niaz, SDM Bhaderwah Ms. Yasha Mudgal, CEO Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) Kalyan Singh and other senior officers of the tourism, BDA and District administration were also present on the occasion.
At Bhaderwah on the second day of celebration the stalls installed by the various departments witnessed a huge rush of public and unemployed educated youth, who were made aware about the various welfare and benefit schemes particularly Self Employment Scheme and the schemes related to the tourism sector. The youth were asked to come forward and take benefits in establishing their income generating units specially in the tourism sector which will certainly help in giving a boost to the tourism culture in the area.
A grand state level Mushaira was also organized at Govt. Degree College Bhaderwah yesterday where prominent poets recited their poetry.
Main chowks and bazars of Bhaderwah town have been decorated and illuminated to give a festive look to the city during the festival days.
