According to the legend of the Greek Mythology, Hera is the queen of the gods. She is the wife of the Greek god Zeus, the most powerful god of the ancient Greeks. She is the mother of other ancient Greek gods namely; Ares, Hephaestus, Hebe, and Eileithyia.
She named as the queen of the gods as she is the legitimate wife of Zeus, the ancient Greek’s most powerful god. Hera’s parents are the titans Cronus and Rhea and her husband Zeus is also his brother.
The legend depicts Hera as something like a young woman that posses a stunning beauty. Accordingly, she wears a high cylindrical crown.
Greek goddess Hera was named as the goddess of marriage. She was also named as the protector of the married woman. She was said to be the mother of other goddesses in the Greek Mythology. These are the god of war Ares, the god of Fire Hephaestus, the god of youth Hebe and the god of childbirth Eileithyia.
According to the story, Zeus wanted Hera and that one time he attempted to seduce her but Hera accordingly did not pay attention to him. To pursue Hera Zeus got into an idea of making a trick using his powers. He turned himself into a bird and was appeared to be frozen from the cold as it is a time of winter.
As Hera saw the bird, She felt pity for it. He held the bird tightly into her breast so that the bird will at least be kept warm. In an instant the bird returns to the normal identity of Zeus and took advantage over Hera’s weakness. Hera was unable to fight back as Zeus is strong and powerful, eventually Zeus succeeded with his intention to Hera. Because of what had happen, Hera persuaded Zeus in order to marry her so that she will be covered from shame.
In the Greek mythology, the goddess Hera was portrayed as a jealous wife. She oftentimes angry with Zeus, to his mistresses, and to their children including to one of the famous god in the Greek Mythology, Hercules, the god of strength.
In the story of the Trojan war, Hera aided the Greeks in their war against Troy. She did this because she had said to be angry with the Trojan Prince Paris, prior to her lost in a beauty contest judge by Paris himself, together with goddesses Athena and Aphrodite
Hera’s symbol is a peacock that shows her authority as the queen of all of the ancient Greek goddesses.
