Melinda Herrera recently joined Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) of Lynden, WA as admissions and community relations director; she works closely with CHCC’s management team, residents and their loved ones. Her primary duties include overseeing the admission process, communicating with Whatcom County health care providers and helping families during the discharge process.
Herrera holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Texas State University. She has worked in the social services, admissions and marketing departments of several skilled nursing facilities since 2006.
“I knew early on that a career in the long term care industry was where I was supposed to be. I am excited to be part of Christian Health Care Center’s team because their commitment to caring shows through the residents and staff,” shared Herrera.
In addition to her role at CHCC, Herrera serves as board chair for Elder Service Providers’ annual caregiver conference and volunteers as an executive committee member with Communities in Schools of Whatcom County.
