Srinagar, October 6 (JandK Now): Police claimed to have busted a militant hideout in a forest area of district Kupwara. Moreover, a grenade was recovered and diffused in a village of the same district.
Police said that on specific information Lalpora police busted a hideout in a forest area of Dever, Kupwara. The team was accompanied by 18 Rashtriya Rifles.
One Chinese grenade, ten AK 47 magazines, 252 rounds of AK ammunition, 19 Pika rounds and two radio set antennas were recovered from the hideout, police sources said adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
In yet another incident in the same district of Kashmir valley, police recovered a rusted Chinese grenade from a ‘Nallah’ near forest are of village Kandhar Koligam.
The grenade was destroyed by bomb disposal squad on spot without causing any loss, police said.
Both the said areas fall under the jurisdiction of police station Lalpora.
