Kahna Chak,October 07, (Scoop News)-Expressing his grave concern over loss of lives and properties in the unprovoked firing from across the border by Pakistani troopers, General Secretary of the State unit of BJP, Bali Bhagat today asked the State Government to provide alternative land to the border residents at safer zones because Pakistani soldiers repeatedly targeting civilian population by violating cease-fire.
Interacting with people after visiting house of Ram Lal at Dub Sooden camp of 1971 refugees, Bali Bhagat regretted that Pakistani soldiers were deliberately targeting civilian population. Ram Lal, a poor land farmer of Dub Sooden camp has lost three cows due to shelling from across the border. The hapless family is at the verge of starvation because they were earning their livelihood by selling milk of these cows.
Expressing his anguish over unprovoked firing by Pakistani soldiers, Bali Bhagat urged upon the Union Government to teach a lesson to Pakistani once for all to stop such repeated mis-adventure by our neighbour. “It is high-time to teach Pakistan a lesson for slaughtering civilian population on this side of the border”, Bali said and pointed out that on Monday five civilians had lost their lives due to firing from across the border in Arnia village.
Endorsing demand of the locals that they should be provided alternative land at safer zones where these border residents would take shelter in case of any firing from across the borders, Bali Bhagat assured the people that he would take up this matter with the Union Government. “Demand of alternative land being raised by the border residents is genuine and BJP would pursue this case at appropriate platform”, he said and assured the border residents that the party has decided to take up this issue with the Union Government.
Demanding adequate compensation for the families affected by the border firing, Bali Bhagat said that season of reap crops especially vegetable crops is on its peak and at this point of time, Pakistani soldiers have started poundering shells on civilian population. “The government should take some effective steps that the hapless farmers would not suffer due to hostility on the borders”, he said.
Taking a dig at Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for his attempt to politicize the border firing issue, Bali Bhagat said that on such issues there should be no politics. “Instead of taking political mileage on such tragedies caused by the enemy, all political parties should work to heal wounds of the affected families”, he said.
