ISLAMABAD, Jan 5: Messages are pouring in from the four corners of the world to condole with Bhutto family over assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the twice elected Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The former US First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in a condolence letter addressed to Senator Asif Ali Zardari, wrote,” Bill and I were deeply saddened to learn of your wife’s tragic death. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your children and hope the support of your loved ones will bring you some measure of comfort during this immensely difficult time."
"As so many people know, Benazir was a courageous and determined leader. To us, she was also a friend and we are grateful that we had the opportunity to know her and work closely with her," she added.
Hillary hoped that Benazir Bhutto’s vision would continue to inspire possibilities for a brighter, more hopeful future for the people she loved and the country she served.
" We will be keeping you, your family and the people of Pakistan in our thoughts and prayers," she remarked.
Meanwhile, in a letter addressed to the Bhutto family, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Islamic Republic of Iran, Manouchehr Mottaki offered his deepest sorrow and condolences to the Bhutto family.
"The Government of Iran was shocked by this abhorrent and brutal assassination. There is no doubt that Benazir Bhutto was one of the prominent politicians and friend of brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan nations who devoted herself to the interest of the people of Pakistan." he added.
