Sarawak,Malaysia: monday;
Hindraf or also known as Hindu Rights Action force is an organisation of extremists. " Their actions can threaten the security of this country," says Datuk Najib Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated what many Malaysian had said whether over the air, in the papers and internet..
However, he said that the Government is leaving it to the auhority concerned to do whatever action it deemed appropriate. In a separate news, a leader of Hindraf, Uthaya Kumar told a newspaper in Singapore that violent actions such as arms struggle is always a consideration.
What is more important says an observer, many foreign powers such as India and Britain have in fact stayed away from the group. Meanwhile, the leadership of Malaysia, namely Tne Prime Minister himself had ordered that the group’s activities be investigated. There are sources saying that these individuals [Hindraf’s Leaders] had links with the Tamil Eelam of Sri Langka.
In a related incident, thirty opposition leaders were arrested this morning for defying Police’s orders to disperse. They had gathered and created nuisance while marching towards the Parliament. A gathering of about five or more people for a political purpose or agitation is considered illegal here.
They were charged in Court and many put on bail. What irked the authorities in Malaysia is the tactic of bringing their kids along when they were protesting. According to the Police this tactic is dirty and inhuman because the kids are taught to protest at a very young age.
