Now museum has specialists in two basic sections: "Archeology"-"Prehistory","Antiquity", "Middle Ages", "Numismatics", "Bulgarian lands",  15-19 century(include funds "Renaissance" and "New and the newest history" and links with public. The funds of museum include around 90 000 exponent from native history, some of which with science value. Together with JOSV(Japanese volunteers for collaboration in abroad) museum makes progect for computer. The Historic museum has 30 exhibition conected with Jambol and region. The museum had science publication for different historic problems. In 1995  the museum specialists publicated "News of Jambol museum"  and magazine. There are two international symposiums " Life in Trakia" . All museum specialists partisipate in national regional conferations in which  with their research they populize the history  of Jambol and region like part of Bulgarian history. The museum is with guns, coins, earlier jar. The building is contemporary and open for visitors.
