The Serbian economy is recording an unexpected GDP growth in the first half of 2016. According to the expert analysis of the International Monetary Fund the growth will be 2.5%, but some independent experts think, it will go up to 3%. After years of stagnation, this news has been remarkably noticed by Serbian media and people around the country.
“This will be the highest growth from the end of the World War Two, and Serbia will be among the countries with the biggest growth in Europe this year,” Prime Minister Vucic said.
At the beginning of this year, many thought different, predicting lower growth. Even the International Monetary Fund has needed to change its forecast two times, placing the scale on a higher level. They did not expect such growth, but luckily it happens. The best thing here is forecast for 2017, and it states, the next year will be even better than this one, which means Serbia will probably have the highest growth in the whole Europe.
For a developing country, this means a big hope in a brighter future with more possibilities. If the growth constantly continues a next few years, it would mean higher salaries and pensions, more job offers, better conditions for starting a business. Everything seems, the growth is a merit of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and his wise political strategy.
