Home Minister holds consultations with JK Governor

 

Jammu, April 10 (Scoop News) –      P. Chidambaram, Union Home Minister, had wide ranging consultations with  N. N. Vohra, Jammu and Kashmir Governor, and  Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir, on several important matters at a meeting held at Raj Bhavan here today.

          During their hour long luncheon meeting, the Governor, Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister discussed several important matters which related, interalia, to the pace of socio-economic development of the State, internal and external security management, measures taken for empowerment of Panchayati Raj institutions and ensuing elections to the urban local bodies.

                Earlier, on arrival from New Delhi in the morning, the Union Home Minister visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and paid obeisance at the Sanctum Sanctorum. He was received at Sanjichhat by  Navin Kumar Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and senior Civil and Police officers.

 

                                                                                                                                            EHe prayed for peace and prosperity of the state and the country.

            Deputy Chief Minister,  Tara Chand, DGP,  Kuldeep Khoda, Principal Secretary Home,  B.R. Sharma, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board,  Navin Chowdary,  Additional CEO,  Mandeep Bhandari, DDC Reasi, Mrs, Sheetal Nanda, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range,  Jagjeet Kumar, SSP Reasi,  Arun Goel accompanied the Home Minister from Sanjhi-Chhat to Bhawan.

            CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine Board,  Naveen Chowdary apprised the Home Minister about the facilities being extended to the pilgrims and the overall security scenario enroute the shrine. He also briefed the Home Minister about the infrastructural projects taken up by the Shrine Board in view of the ever increasing pilgrimage.
