Can You Imagine what it’s like to go to School without really being there. What if You knew that a simple cold virus might kill You.
That’s what Lyndon Baty feels like every Day. The 15 Year Old Boy from Knox City, Texas suffers from a rare disorder called "polycystic kidney disease", which caused his kidneys to swell three Times their normal size.
In 1997 Lyndon had his kidneys removed and two Years later he got a transplant. In 2010 his Body started to attack the transplanted kidneys and his immune System was weakened. He had to give up school and even worse, he had to live in complete isolation. He didn’t see his friends anymore and his parents gave him private lessons.
In Fall of 2010 He got a Robot that allowed him to visit School without actually being there. He controls his "Baty Bot" from his room in Knox City, Texas. The robot has an in-built camera and two speakers. His Face is displayed on a small 9" Screen on the Front of the Robot.
But will he ever be able to return to school ? His only Chance is to get on a kidney transplant list.
Hopefully He will get a Chance to lead a normal Life!
