Srinagar, August 28, (Scoop News)- The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today unanimously resolved that the State Government should urge the Union Government to take effective steps for prevention of LoC firing which has caused huge loss of life and property in the affected areas. The House also resolved that the State Government must urge the Union Government to resume the process of Indo-Pak dialogue to ensure peace and stability in the sub-continent, in general and the State of Jammu and Kashmir, in particular.
The House also recommended that the State Government should take immediate steps for relief and rehabilitation of victims of LoC firing and shall provide all required help and facilities to them in this regard.
The Resolution was moved by the Chairman, Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra and was passed unanimously after members spoke in favour of the resoultion.
Earlier, three members including Ghulam Nabi Monga, Naresh Kumar Gupta and Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah sought certain amendments to the resolution. However, Ghulam Nabi Monga and Naresh Kumar Gupta later withdrew their motion seeking amendments while Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah staged a walkout.
