Srinagar, January 18 (Scoop News) – Due to heavy Snowfall in Kashmir valley, house damages were reported from many places.
Police said that House of Mudasir Ahmad Tass, son of Bogu Tass, resident of Ladeh, Kupwara, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kupwara, got partially damaged due to recent heavy snowfall. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
Due to heavy snowfall the roofs of the residential houses of Jumma Sheikh son of Kalu Sheikh, Mohammad Shafiq Bhat, son of Sulaiman Bhat residents of Nambla Uri, Shakeel Ahmad Lone, son of Atta Mohammad resident of Uri, Bashir Ahmad Ganie, son of Rashid Ganie, Ghulam Qadir Malik, son of Gani Malik residents of Garkoot Uri, Mohammad Syed Awan, son of Mohammad Lateef, resident of Thajal Uri besides the roof top of the Primary School Dani Basgran, Uri got damaged. However, residential house of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, son of Aziz Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri got completely damaged. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents. Police has evacuated the affected families to the safer places.
Due to heavy snowfall the roof top of poultry farm situated at Chahal, Baramulla falling under the jurisdiction of police station Boniyar of Mudsir Ashiq Mir son of Ashiq Hussain, resident of Boniyar got partially damaged.

Srinagar, January 18: Mohammad Akbar Sheikh, age 42 years, son of Muma Sheikh, resident of Shairgund Utrooso, Anantnag, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Achabal, got injured when he fell from roof top while clearing snow from it.
The injured was shifted by Utrooso police to Sub District hospital Shangus
Civil Defence volunteers assist in snow clearance
Civil Defence Volunteers in large numbers came out voluntarily and assisted in the Snow clearance operation throughout the Valley. A group of CD volunteers led by Rafiq Ahmed Baba cleared snow from paths leading to Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal, District Hospital, Ganderbal, Jamia Masjid Miran, Duderhama, Syed Colony graveyard Habak, Block Development office, Ganderbal. Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shoukat Ali Mir interacted with the CD Volunteers comprising of Farooq Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, Omar Rafiq, Manzoor Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Irshad Ahmed, Ghulam Nabi and others. Another batch of CD volunteers were deputed by Deputy Controller Civil Defence Rafiq Ahmed and Dy Chief Warden Aamir Ali, the group was led by Muzaffar Jan Post Warden. They cleared snow from Chest Diseases hospital Dalgate, TB Centre, Forensic Science laboratory and Boulevard footpaths and Dalgate main chowk. Imtiaz Ahmed Bhat Dy Divisional Warden alongwith Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Sector warden, Omar Mehraj, Peer Muzamil , Muneeb, Sikander Farooq cleared snow from the footpaths at JLNM Hospital Rainawari. Yet another group led by Rahi Riyaz Divisional Warden CD alongwith his team cleared snow at Lawaypora and Gund Hassibath. At Budgam a team of volunteer led by Chief Warden Dr. Majid cleared snow from District hospital Budgam. Chief Warden CD Baramulla, Dr. Inayat alongwith CD volunteers cleared snow from various locations at Baramulla. A group of CD volunteers led by Javaid Tinda, facilitated distribution of LPG cylinders in Tinda Mohalla, Interior Dal Lake. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon has lauded the Civil Defence for their voluntary effort and hoped that others will follow suit.
