HOW I SEE CHRISTMAS (a poem by Dave Mathews)
“C” is for the Child, Son of God made man.
“H” is for Hope, and belief, through Him we can.
“R” is for Righteousness, to all mankind, restored.
“I” is for, Innocence,of believers, reborn.
“S” is for Sinlessness, as we are cleansed, and made anew.
“T” is for God’s Tolerance, though our sinfulness grew and grew.
“M” is for His Mercy, given to us freely.
“A” is for God’s Ability, to love unconditionally.
“S” is for God’s Simple love offered sinners like you and me.
Christmas is not about ornately decorated trees, or expensive presents, or sleighrides.
It is not about trying to out do your neighbors house decorations or seeing who can spend the most.
It’s not about parties where one can get so drunk, they can’ t remember anything or pigging out on turkey and stuffing, cake and cookies, or slurping on eggnog.
Christmas is about How God loved us so very much that He asked His only begotten Son Jesus to become the perfect randsom and sacrifice, in order to redeem mankind from his sinful ways, in order to restore our priviledge of being able to communicate one on one with God in a personal meaningful and loving relationship.
Christmas eve describes the evening, that Jesus the Son of God became man taking on human form in order to blend in and began His 33 year life of service to God to erase sin and conquer death.
