Since time immemorial man and other living things that existed on earth lived by which water is the primary source of life. Many centuries have passed that water continued to be the important part of everyday living, from personal use to household and farm use and other things that dependent on water. But as the world ages, water availability started to lose its pristine abundance. According to the different institutions that conducted a study about water resources, environmental destruction and man made calamities are some of the causes of water scarcity among the earth’s inhabitants. In this regard, poor countries are the most affected because people living in this part of the world have no access to potable water or drinking water. In Asia, particularly the Philippines, potable water is not as common as compared to other countries. Given the fact that the Philippines is surrounded by ocean, water utilities is unheard of in some part of the country. Limited potable water access is concentrated only in cities where the rich and the select few can be located. Poor neighborhood in the metropolis and most of the rural areas has no access to potable water. Often, people use contaminated water in their daily chores, or having to pay double for a water delivery. And the cycle continues. Equitable water distribution seems not on the agenda of the government. So we might ask “how important water is to the people of the Philippines and of the world?”
