Oh no, Mr Lazy is creeping into my life again.
He is going to talk me out of what I am going to do – again.
He is so convincing. Such a smooth talker. Such a creative.
After just a minute of conversation, he talked me into it.
All I have to do now is stay where I am and enjoy the view.

Mr Lazy is everywhere. He creeps up when I’m about to workout. He creeps up when I’m about to stretch that extra mile during my day.
He is ALWAYS unwelcomed.
I believe that if there wasn’t a strain of Mr Lazy in my DNA since birth, I would have been in a different place by now.
Same with you?
How can you get Mr Lazy out of your life?
You can’t. As long as you have a brain, he will always be there.
The main purpose of the brain is not to make you happy – it’s main purpose is survival. It moves away from pain and moves toward comfort.
So what can you do?
There are two techniques. The first is done by yourself, and the second is done with others.
1) By Yourself: Utilize Mr Lazy’s Creativity into OUTRAGEOUS BENEFITS!
For example, the next time Mr Lazy pays you a visit, steer the conversation from the drawbacks of the activity to the most outrageous benefits of the activity.
Instead of saying that going to gym is not worth it as it’s all about looks and the stress of lifting weights, shift it to:
“CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW AMAZING YOU WILL FEEL AFTER THE EXERCISE? HOW AMAZING YOU WILL LOOK! YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR GIRL, BE ON THE COVER OF MENS HEALTH, ROLE MODEL FOR YOUR CHILDREN, WEAR EVERY SHIRT AND FIT AMAZINGLY WELL, PEOPLE THROWING THEIR MONEY AT YOUR FEET TO BECOME YOUR BUSINESS PARTNER, EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND.”
You get the idea.
Do it and think about it until it pumps you up and until a few minutes into your activity. This allows time for your brain to get used to the activity and… OFF YOU GO.
2) With Others: Stakes
Commitment Pics – they only go so far.
The truth is… unless you have somebody personally accountable to, posting a picture of yourself shirtless can only motivate you for a few days tops. After all, it’s not as if your friends will stop talking to you if you don’t.
But if you hand over $500 to your closest friend and have them hold it to donate to a charity or political party you dislike with your name on it if you fail, chances are – you would actually follow through with your goals.
Most of us are more motivated by what we have to lose than by what we have to gain. So this technique works perfectly.
Always keep in mind that it is those who push through the resistance are the ones who succeed on life. Procrastination is a silent killer of dreams.
The more we give into it, the more we just let time drift by without actually living the life we always wanted.
Procrastination HALTS progress. Overcome it with your inner creativity and stakes.
