Huge landslide at the Dolomites in Italy

This morning an overshadowing landslide collapsed from the Cima Una peak (2.598 meters) of the Dolomites in Southern Tyrol, which is situated in Northern Italy.

Teams of the Italian Civil Defense, of the Fire Department and of the Police Department are already working since a few moments after the fact, they affirmed that 60.000 cubic meters fell, obscurating the sky and complicating their work, but fortunately nothing makes think that there are injured people or victims.

The very fist landslide collapsed from the peak at about 9 am and since that moment the mountain never stopped to calm down, provoking uninterrupted precipitation of rocks and invading with a huge cloud of dust the sky above hotels, refuges, houses, parking areas and footpaths.

The zone of the Val Fiscalina, a part of the Dolomites where the landslipe occured, is famous in Italy because vips are usual visitors of the relaxing mountainous area; in fact, you can often find important hosts there, such as the German chancellor Angela Merkel, the countess Marta Marzotto and other famous Italian and foreign tourists.
