on 25Jan2009 i attended in a three day residential camp named Youth Journalism and Human Rights Camp organized by Relief International Bangladesh. In the camp i came to know one of the blood curdling issues that is human rights violation in the ship breaking industries at Sitakund in Chittagong.
In the Media nd human rights session i experience that such kind if ship breaking began in 1965. In the midst of 1980 it turned into commercial perspective. Now 15000 to 25000 laborers are working in this industries. But there is no equipment safety measures for the laborers and the laborers are not paid enough.Every year 10 to 15 lost their lives and several hundred live on injured.
